About Me

La Cootina
aka The Coot, aka Aunt Crankypants. I am the mistress of Villa DeCay, and dogmom of Miss Molly. I have Multiple Myeloma, a blood and bone cancer. I am trying very hard to be the heroine of my story instead of a whiny crybaby. I succeed about half the time.

BUMPER STICKER OF THE WEEK

When life hands you lemons,
ask for Tequila and salt, and call me over!

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

“Inside every older person is a younger person –
wondering what the hell happened.
”
Cora Harvey Armstrong

About the Masthead

This masterpiece was drawn by Supergirl #4, KC, when she was about 5 years old. She explained, "This is you, and your dog Molly, and Molly's friend Gracie, and Gracie's dad." I pointed to the figure in the sky and asked if that was Gracie's mommy. "No," KC replied, "That's a Flying Heart Person."
I LOVE that it's a gender-neutral Flying Heart Person, and not some cheesy angel.
Thanks to my lovely, brilliant friend Kelly (a Hoodie), who reconfigured the masterpiece and made this beautiful masthead.

ON SALE NOW

My Foodies' cookbook, a compilation of our favorite recipes from 7 years of cooking together, is now available for just $10! Plan ahead for birthdays, stocking stuffers, etc. Proceeds go to my shrinking cash reserves as I await SS Disability. So help keep Miss Molly in kibble while treating yourself to some outstanding recipes. The deceptively simple recipe for Grandma O's Bourbon Balls is worth the price alone.
