I've purposely put off the newest books by some of my favorite authors: Janet Evanovich, David Sedaris, Elmore Leonard, Alexander McCall Smith. I think I'll be doing a lot of reading during recovery.
My only criteria these days is: funny, funny, funny, maybe with a side of charming. I want to be entertained and amused. I don't particularly want to read anything deep, or philosophical, or moving, or dramatic. A little suspense is okay, as long as it's wrapped in funny - like Janet. Don't you just wish Stephanie Plum was your best friend?
I'd love to hear suggestions. Any funny, entertaining authors to recommend?

Don't know Stephanie Plum but I'd love to BFF with Haven Kimmel. Have you read Chip Kidd's novel, "The Cheese Monkeys"? I'd be surprised if it didn't make you laugh.
