Funny... or Not So Much?

  • The credit crunch has helped me get back on my feet. The car's been repossessed.
  • The United States has developed a new weapon that destroys people but it leaves buildings standing. It's called the stock market.
  • President Bush said clients shouldn’t be concerned by all the bank closings. "If the bank is closed, you just use the ATM," he said.
These were among the "Best Financial Jokes of 2008," but they seem a little less funny every day.

It's CRAZY! The whole country feels a sense of hopefulness; we have someone in the White House who can turn around the Titanic... but every day those Wall Street moe-rons continue to devalue everything and spread the disaster wider and wider.

If every one of those jokers ends up on a street corner with a tin cup, instead of gorging themselves on bonus-bought luxuries, maybe this whole crisis will have been worth it.
