April Fools

What makes laughter the best medicine? In honor of April Fools' Day and National Humor Month, a look at the science behind laughter and uncover some sites that encourage this stress-relieving phenomenon. Don't miss the many laughy links.

Bon Anniversaire, Rachel Maddow. This Oxford-educated Rhodes scholar began a career in radio after winning a contest. Her big break came in 2008 when she filled in for Keith Olbermann on his MSNBC primetime show. She now has her own show on that station. If I were gay, I'd have me a girl crush on Rache. She is smart, funny, insightful, yet analytical and objective. Happy B-day to the too-young, too-cute, too-smart Ms. Maddow.

Other April Fools: Ali McGraw, Gordon Jump (remember "WKRP in Cincinnati?"), Debbie Reynolds, Milan Kundera, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Otto Von Bismark.

I was upset, thinking surely you didn't like Rachael and all her bitterness (the election is over, her guy won...but that must not have made her happy because all she can do is worry about the last guy). No one with cancer can waste precious energy on the bitterness of politics...staying free from stress is more important than anything in your diet.

Then I realized your comments were the April Fools joke...sorry I was so slow.

We all see who's having issues with bitterness... but thanks for being my April fool!

Oh my, you were serious.

I see her so negative. She has a new president who she fully supports, any way I thought she did, so I would expect her to be excited to report on his new ideas and programs.

Have you not seen the research that stress is a factor in triggering growth of myeloma cells? It makes me wonder if chemicals our bodies produce when we are under stress somehow damage the pathways to keep things in check. I know I was under a lot of stress in the months before my MM diagnosis.

Now, knowing how dangerous it is to my health, I leave stress, bitterness, etc out of my life if at all possible. Not much seems so important to risk my health over.

Sorry if I misinterpreted. Did I mention I'm on STEROIDS? ;D

Steroids are terrible...I dread the day I have to use them again...so I more than understand...no apology needed. I have the same beef against conservative talk show hosts that rant....I think they just talk about whatever will get them the best ratings no matter how far out there the subject is. But I have to distance myself from all of them, because it is not good for my health. Not that I don't care about the issues, those I may disagree with people strongly on, but I care more about people after having MM.
